  • Cut & Color

So, I went and did what I swore I wasn't going to do... I colored my hair!  I had every intention of graying naturally but the reality of that was more than I could take - LOL!  So I got some lighter streaks put in and a funky, shorter style to go with it.

  • Belated Blogging

I know I haven't written on here in quite some time but I didn't realize it had been almost 3 months!  Time flies by so quickly and not just when you're having fun - it just flies anyway!  The older I get, the faster it goes.

So, what have I been up to lately?  Mostly just working.  I did ask to cut my hours back at the store because I've been really stressed and overextended for awhile and it was starting to get to me.  I still feel like I'm perpetually tired and not at all motivated to do anything these days.

It doesn't help that I signed up to do every upcoming art project for our online group (Paper Traders)...  As a moderator, I feel obligated to participate but when I have to create under the gun, I don't feel in touch with my muse at all and I'm not very satisfied with my results.  I'm starting to get a few of the deadlines behind me and that is helping with the pressure.

Of course, Christmas is fast approaching and, although I love this time of year, it is a very stressful time - with the hustle and bustle and the expenses!  And I feel obligated to do as much as I can for everyone on my list.  I told my mom the other day that I actually spend less money on the people who mean the most to me because they're the ones who understand if I just can't afford to do more.

The weather has finally started to cool down here and we've had a couple of snowfalls but nothing real big yet.  This weekend was supposed to be a big storm - and I guess it was in the mountains - but we only got a little bit of rain and it was close to 60 degrees... not winter-like at all.  Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but I love the winter.  And not just because I missed it all those years I was in California (although partly so) but because I just love weather - rain, lightning, thunder, snow, fog - I love all of that kind of stuff.  Maybe I'm weird but I just do!

So, my Broncos are still hanging in there, although they've struggled this season.  It's so hard to have to root against the Chargers because I like them, too, but my boys in orange & blue will always be first in my heart!  They're in Oakland tomorrow and that should be another win for us... but you never can tell - LOL!

I did manage to get home this summer... I spent a week at the end of September visiting my family in Wyoming.  It was a nice and relaxing week.  Mostly I just worked on crafts with my mom, which is all I really wanted to do.  And I got to meet my new nephew, Simon, who is beautiful and he loves his aunt so that was awesome too  =)

I actually had a couple dates with my friend Gary, who I met online about 8 or 9 years ago and never met in person until recently.  I think he was pretty crazy about me but I just never felt the chemistry so... there you go.  Nothing much to tell there.  I'd really like to meet a nice mormon guy about my age but apparently there aren't any here in southern Colorado - not active ones anyway.  So I wonder if I've placed myself in a big black hole here but, at this point, I'm still committed to staying for the near foreseeable future anyway...

And that's my life in a nutshell.

  • Go Broncos!

     Go Broncos!

If you missed the Broncos win today, you missed what I consider to be quintessential Broncos football.  We don't always look pretty but we know how to pull through... so exciting!

I had to work today and I was already running late but couldn't leave without watching the end of the game... boy, am I glad I stuck it out because it took right to the very last second for my guys to get their win.  I stood in front of my tv with my purse on my shoulder and keys in my hand and flipped off the television the second I saw that ball fly through the uprights.

Congrats, too, to the Chargers for winning on their first game day.  I didn't get to see the game but heard it wasn't a very pretty win, either - LOL!

About Me

  • I'm active LDS (Mormon), an intelligent, yet somewhat naive, daughter of God. Pragmatic, responsible, confident, forthright, & funloving. I have a good sense of humor, can appreciate sarcasm, love to tease my friends, and enjoy being silly & flirty. I am devoted and loyal to those I love. I am independent and strong when I have to be. I set up this blog as a place where my friends and family can keep up with what's going on in my life. If you want to see my artwork, you can read my other blog at: http://elysian68.blogspot.com/
